Every page of this site is written as html in a text editor. You'll find no fancy graphics and animations. One of the reasons for this has to do with my never having learned anything beyond basic HTML and cut-n-paste javascript. Another has to do with Philip Gteenspun's ideas on web-site design, and his incredibly popular site with a super-strong community, at photo.net. It may not look like the hottest, whiz-bang site--just a simple, tasteful layout--but it gets more traffic than almost any other on the web, no exaggeration. It holds a bottomless well of insights, opinions, practical information and philosophy. And that's not even to mention all the great photography. Check it out. You'll get lost for weeks if not months.
