Like I Never

Often you can tell if a person likes you
depending on how much they like
to pick fights with you. It may seem
like they're full of spite, but know
that what they're really saying when
they tell you for the umpteenth time,
"You're wrong. I just wish you'd
accept the fact that you can be wrong,"
is, "God damn it, you son of a bitch,
am I really going to have to turn
sixty before you reach out and grab
me by the back of the head and kiss
me like I've never been kissed before?"
