All Things

All good things must come
to an end. We've all heard
that before and we all know
it's a crock, and it's
less than half the story.
The truth is that even
the halfway-mediocre things
must come to an end.
But the clincher is,
in letting you know what
a big fat lie we've all
been fed all these years,
that even the bad things,
the living nightmares,
the walking deaths,
the theft of hopes and dreams,
must also come to an end.
This golden rule applies
to every last living thing
on this earth, not just to
the good things.
So take heart:
either the bad things
will end or you will end.
Either way you're
walking out a winner.
